The last living leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising has written a letter to the Premier and Speaker of Parliament protesting against the anti-Semitism propagated by the religious broadcaster Radio Maryja.
Marek Edelman writes that Radio Maryja supports xenophobia, anti-Semitism and chauvinism.
This is the second strong voice of protest coming soon after Radio Maryja ran a broadcast which alleged that , among others, Jews were taking advantage of the Holocaust for economic profit.
The station has been reprimanded also by the Media Ethics Council.of the Catholic church in Poland, which sad that politics must not overshadow church doctrine.
Radio Maryja and its sister television network Trwam, run by the controversial Father Rydzyk, have become a popular media of the ruling conservatives, Law and Justice. In his letter to the Premier, Marek Edelman underlines that the presence of politicians of the ruling Law and Justice adds to the prestige of Radio Maryja and creates the impression that the State supports the ideas propagated by the it.
