Over 1.7 million tourists from 200 countries visited the Wieliczka salt mine, outside the southern Polish city of Krakow in 2017, 200,000 more than in the previous year. "This is a historic record of attendance", Monika Szczepa from the mine told PAP.
The internationally renowned Black Madonna shrine in the southern Polish city of Częstochowa attracted 4 million pilgrims in 2017.
Nearly 90,000 tourists visited the historical silver mine in Tarnowskie Gory (southern Poland) in 2017. The mine was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List during the 41st UNESCO World Heritage Committee sitting in Krakow in July.
Greater Poland’s Great Loop is a closed, almost 690-kilometre long inland waterway trail running along the Warta and Noteć, interconnecting lakes and waterways.
